What are ITIL guiding principles?
They’re recomandations that guides an organisation in all circumstances, independently of changes in the strategy, goals, type of work or changes in the management structure.
- Focus on Value
It means that everything we do, must add value.
- Start from where you are
a) First of all observe directly and fully understand the current state.
b) No need to start from scratch: start from what is already available.
- Progress constantly with feedback
a) No need to do everything at once.
b) But divide the work into smaller, manageable and repeatable parts.
c) Use feedback in every iteration to make sure your actions are appropriate.
- Collaborate and promote visibility
a) Work together across boundaries for more success.
b) Share information, build trust and mutual understanding.
c) Make your work and the consequences visible.

a) Work on the service as a whole, not just on its components.
b) Integrate Organization and people, information and technology, partners and suppliers, practices and agreements.

a) Eliminate everything that does not add value.
b) Use the minimum number of steps to reach a goal.
c) Use an outcome-based approach for practical solution and results.

a) Use resources at their best.
b) Eliminate anything wasteful.
c) Use technology.
