ISBT BLOOD GROUP COLLECTIONS (200) Flashcards
1
Q
Cost collection (205)
A
- Named after the two patients (Copeland and Sterling) who made anti-Cs^a
- Currently consists of two antithetical antigens, Csa and Csb
- Both Csa and Csb antigens demonstrate a resistance to enzyme treatment
2
Q
Ii collection (207)
A
- In 2002, the I antigen was promoted to a blood group system 027, leaving i the sole antigen in the collection.
- The i antigen is stronly expressed on cord cells with only trace amounts on adult RBCs (i antigen - abundant in infant RBCs)
- Anti-i is usually IgM reacting at room temperature or 4C
3
Q
Er collection (208)
A
- High-prevalence Ag: Era and Er3
- Low-prevalence Ag: Erb
- Can be expressed on cord cells
- The antibodies are IgG reacting at the AHG phase and do not fix complement
4
Q
Globoside collection (209)
A
- Currently consists of one high prevalence antigen: LKE
- Related to the P (003) and Globoside (028) blood group systems
5
Q
MN CHO collection (213)
A
- Currently consists of six polymorphic antigens:
1. Hu
2. M1
3. Tm
4. Can
5. Sext
6. Sj - The antigens are associated with the M or N antigen in the MNS (002) system
