Q

Explain roughly the heart and the blood vessels

A

Right of the heart is deoxygenated, with superior vena cava from ipper body and inferior frok lower body.

This is taken away by pulmonary artery which goes left or right. Left pulmonary arteries go to left lung

Blood is brought back into the left side by right lung pulmonary veins and left lung pulmonary veins into the left atrium

The aorta then extends from left ventricle to whole body

Around the legt of the heart (lies the left anterior coronary artery) and then the coronary artery is also posterior/behind the left pulmonary artery to the lungs

16
Q

Where does diaphragm flatten to in inspiration

A

T12 to increase thoracic volume

17
Q

What is it called when blood accumulates around the pericardium putting pressure on bentricles so cant expand

A

Cardiac tamponade

18
Q

What causes cardiac tamponade

A

Pericarditis (inflamed perineum) after infection

Or

Heart damage, hesrt surgery, lung cancer

19
Q

How do you treat carsiac tamponades

A

Pericardiocentesis

20
Q

Explain steucture and function of pleura

A

Plejra is double layer connrctivr tissue inner layer being visceral, outer being parietal.

Inbetween to reduce friction is a fluid layer

21
Q

Puncturing the pleura causes pneuothorax. What is this

A

When air is able to get into thorax which affects respiratory function and cant expand for surface area etc

22
Q

What is haemothorax

A

When blood is anle to get into the thorax having same impact as pneumothorax
