Intro (3) Flashcards
What are the major pelvic bones
Ileum (large heart shaped ones)
Pubic bone/pubis under the hole
Ischeum bone (in lesser pelvis)
What is the dent in the lesser pelvis called
Pelvic arch (where perineum begins)
What are the 2 subsections of pelvis
Greater pelvis (between ileum bones)
Lesser pelvis ( deep behind pubic bone)
What organs/systems are in the thorax
Heart , aorta, lungs, diaphram
What vertebrate does heart lie between
T5 and T9
Explain roughly the heart and the blood vessels
Right of the heart is deoxygenated, with superior vena cava from ipper body and inferior frok lower body.
This is taken away by pulmonary artery which goes left or right. Left pulmonary arteries go to left lung
Blood is brought back into the left side by right lung pulmonary veins and left lung pulmonary veins into the left atrium
The aorta then extends from left ventricle to whole body
Around the legt of the heart (lies the left anterior coronary artery) and then the coronary artery is also posterior/behind the left pulmonary artery to the lungs
What is the fascia
Fibrous tissue connecting muscles to organs
What fascia surrounde the heart
Pericardium
What is the refion called beyween plural sacs with bounaries of the sternum and the vertical vertebrae
Mediastinum
What does the mediastinum contain
Heart, part of oesophagus and trachea
Where is the aortic arch
Above heart at T4
Where does the aorta terminate
Common iliac arteries (supplying pelvis and below£
Where on vertebrae is lungs
Betwern T1 and T12 (T12 is most inferior point during inspiration)
T1 is above first rib
Where do lungs and pleura (pleural cavity) cross the mid clavicular line
7th rib for lungs
9th tib for pleura
Where is diaphragm at rest
T9 (modt superior point)
