Interior Heart/Posterior Mediastinum Flashcards
Where is the Thebesian valve?
Opening of the coronary sinus in right atrium
Where is the moderator band located?
Right ventricle
What are the roles of the chordate Tendineae?
- Prevent backflow of blood into atrium
- Prevent eversion of valves during Ventricular contraction
- Attach from papillary muscles to cusps fo AV Valves
What are the trabeculae carnae?
In the ventricles, the are all structures except the cusps, chordae tendineae, and septomarginal trabecula
Where is the pectinate muscle located?
Right atrium and right/left auricles only
Which landmark denotes the bifurcation into right and left pulmonary arteries?
The sternal angle of Louis
What attaches the pulmonary trunk to the aortic arch?
Ligamentum arteriosus
Where is the SA Node located?
Superior to the crystal terminalis at the junction of the anteromedial aspect of the SVC and the right auricle.
What is the blood supply to the SA and AV Node?
Right Coronary Artery
Where is the AV Node located?
Interatrial septum on the ventricular side of the orifice of the coronary sinus
What is the blood supply for the Bundle of His?
Left anterior descending Artery
Where does the cardiac plexus lie?
Anterior —> Bifurcation of Trachea
Posterior —> Aortic Arch
Superior —> Bifurcation of pulmonary trunk
Which pathway do pain fibers from the heart run through?
Sympathetic chain
