What is the difference between the ICS and the IMS?
The ICS was developed by the US military and was adopted by Canada as a means of dileaneating day to day responsibilities and overall organizational structure for incidents.
The IMS was developed by Canada as a means of facilitating multiple juristictions working together on a complex incident. It incorporates the philosophy of the ICS, but has particular emphasis on preparedness (Standardized training, mutual aid, information, and resource management).
What are the seven responsibilities of the Incident Commander at an incident?

What is an Emergency Control Group?
They direct the overall strategic responce of the community. Every municpality has an ECG. They opperate out of the Emergency Operations Center
What is an Emergency Operations Center and what does it require to be equipt with?
A location such as an arena, hospital, etc that is equipt with electricity, phone lines and high speed internet.
What is unity of command?
Ensures that everyone has only one person to which they report.

The time frame that the IAP objectives are set for.

Provincial Emergency Operations Center. They monitor incidents in Ontario and notify high ranking official about emergencies.

What is the difference between a task force and a strike team?
Strike Team: A Strike Team is a specified combination of the same kind and type of resources with common communications and a Leader. Task Force: A Task Force is a combination of single resources assembled for a particular tactical need with common communications and a Leader

A group of people in the Operations Section organized by function under a supervisor.
Who are the command staff?
Emergency Information officer, safety officer, liason officer.
What is an emergency information officer?
They are responsible for the release of information concerning the incident and informing the incident commanders about any information gathered by the media about the incident.
What is a safety officer?
They oversee to the overall health and safety of personnel at every point on the incident.
