- biological children
what is an agency of control
a way of preventing crime
what does charles murray believe about those not brought up in a traditional family structure
that the children havent been correctly socialised and so have a lack of norms and values and are more likely yo turn to crime because of this
what are some examples of non traditional familys
- same sex couple
- single parent
- adoptive
- blended familys
what does charles murray say the welfare state has led to
a rise in the underclass ( those who claim benefits and are happy to do so)
what is the welfare state
a state/gov that provides for those in need (responsible for its citizens)
FOR EXAMPLE:
- benefit system
why does the underclass lead to crime
- underclass and welfare state encourage lone parent families
- get more benefits
- more crime
- don’t socialise children correctly
what are absent fathers
fathers who dont provide for their children - they are present but not working
how does an absent father impact their sons committing crime
- dont have a role model to teach them discipline
- no same sex role model to teach norms and values - leads to crime
- seek male role model in gangs
