Q

Why does the elasticity of the ventricles effect how much blood is ejected from the left ventricle in each beat?

A

More elastic = more blood goes in = greater VENTRICULAR CONTRACTILITY

Q

Why does maximal exercise have a longer recovery time?

A

Maximal-anaerobic, so lactic acid is produced by anaerobic respiration so longer recovery time.

Q

Why does STROKE VOLUME PLATEAU?

A

It depends on venous return, however as the HR increases, refill time of the ventricle is decreased so it doesn’t have enough time to fill to maximum capability. So SR plateaus or even decreases.
