How To Fly It Flashcards
To avoid a “Too Low Flap” annunciation from the EGPWS as the aircraft
descends through 200ft AGL with less than Flap 15 selected?
the EGPWS
Flap Over-ride will be pressed ON
For a Flap 0 landing approximately what torque and attitude ?
12-15% TQ and approximately 4-5
degrees nose up can be expected.
Altitude Capture in circuit ?
Smoothly adjust pitch attitude at level-off to set approximately 4˚ nose up
while smoothly reducing the Torque to approximately 25-30%.
This will ensure that the aircraft maintains approximately 190kts in level flight.
Anticipate the need for significant rudder application/trim when reducing torque.
When to do after takeoff checks ?
Once the aircraft is trimmed in level flight at 190kts:
Early Downwind circuit what do you do ?
PF: Entering downwind call “SET 850, MCR” (if not already set).
PM: “MCR, 850”
PF: Confirm below 200KIAS and call for Flap 5 and allow speed to settle around 170KIAS
PM: Check speed below 200KIAS and select flap 5.
PM: Ensure that the TOLD card and SPEED card are set to LANDING data.
PF: Brief the approach and then call for the
“DESCENT CHECKS” and then the “APPROACH CHECKLIST
As the aircraft passes abeam the downwind threshold
commence timing for?
45 seconds (adjusted for wind).
Configuration down wind ?
PF: Keep power set at 25% - 30% and direct the configuration of the aircraft.
PM: Monitor speeds for flap configuration
Airspeed should reduce to approximately what at the end of downwind?
140-150kts
What torque,Pitch, speed and ROD required for base ?
15%
0 degrees pitch
140kts
800fpm
If Flap 35 Landing during the base leg what do you do?
Call “FLAPS 35” then “CONDITION LEVERS MAX”
Anticipate balloon and speed reduction by applying forward
elevator pressure (2°Nose down) with power increase ≈ 25%TQ)
Approximate height for turning final ?
1100ft
Approximately 3.5nm final
Stabilise the airspeed at Vapp (F15) by?
setting power approx 15% TQ and pitch approximately +1º
Stabilise the airspeed at Vapp (F35) by?
setting power approx 25% TQ and pitch attitude approx -2º
What flap setting do we need to have to get below the FAF approach speed ?
Max speed is 140kts
Therefore you need flap 15 to get below 140kts and above VREF/VREF ICE
Once established in level flight at the MDA for a circling approach what configuration do you need ?
its important to ensure
the aircraft is trimmed in the approach configuration,
(Gear down + Flaps 15 + Condition levers MAX).
35% torque
140kts
2-3 degrees
