Q

How far can you be from an adequate aerodrome?

A

Not further than 60mins of flying time at the OEI cruise speed in nil wind.
276 KTAS

113
Q

When do you require an enroute adequate aerodrome?

A

When sector length between departure and destination is greater than twice the 60mins OEI TAS (in distance) being a total sector length of 552nm

114
Q

If your destination (>276nm) didn’t have a forecasting service, could you continue?

A

Not unless you had adequate aerodromes enroute with 1hr OEI, because it would be more than 276nm without an adequate aerodrome. As an adequate aerodrome requires a forecast

115
Q

Maximum flap extended speed? VFE

A

F5 200
F10 181
F15 172
F35 158

117
Q

If our AOC expired today could we fly?

A

No. It’s illegal, you wouldn’t be insured, safety risk as the company has not been assessed by casa, and the company needs to go through recertification process.

122
Q

What is the difference between airwork, charter/RPT?

A

If we get to the aircraft and see an instrument that’s not working how do we know if we can go?

A

MEL

124
Q

1 hr from a suitable airport for landing unless the forward and aft baggage compartments are empty.

FCOM1.18

125
Q

What is the enroute airport requirement?

A

Must be within 60minutes flying time of an airport suitable for landing. Based on 350KTAS.
The captain must ensure that both during the planning stage and inflight the aircraft will remain within a 350nm range of a suitable aerodrome

126
Q

What is the difference between airwork and RPT and charter?

A

You don’t have to plan it in IFR. Not fixed schedule

127
Q

DC Gen starter not cutting out at 50%NH MEL. What does that mean and can we apply that MEL?

A

It means that the starter isn’t cutting out and turning into the gen. We’d have to centre the starter switch. Yes we can apply because it doesn’t have a M# (which means that it’s an M and can be applied by a pilot)
