Caution/Advisory Lights …………………………………………………………………………?

A

Test Hold CAUT/ADVSY test switch at CAUT. Note master warning tone and check:

• Master CAUTION and master WARNING lights flash, all caution lights and #1 and #2 ENG OIL PRESS warning lights illuminate • All remaining warning lights flash. • Press master CAUTION light and check light goes out. Press master WARNING light and check light goes out and warning lights cease flashing.

NOTE Fuselage doors warning light will not flash with passenger or baggage door(s) open.

Hold CAUT/ADVSY test switch at ADVSY and observe that all advisory and A/P DISENG lights illuminate.

NOTE Engine SELECT, engine START, pressurisation FAULT and alternate wiper ON lights do not illuminate.

NOTE The APU will shut down if the fire protection system is tested with the APU running.

APU PWR switch ……………………………………………………………………….. Press Check APU FUEL VALVE OPEN advisory light illuminates. Observe a minimum wait period of five seconds before selecting APU FIRE TEST switch.

APU FIRE TEST switch ………………………………………………….. Press and Hold Check APU FUEL VALVE OPEN advisory light out and APU caution, CHECK FIRE DETECT warning, APU FIRE, APU FAULT, APU BTL ARM, APU FUEL VALVE CLOSED, APU EXTG and APU FAIL advisory lights illuminate and master CAUTION and master WARNING lights flash.

APU FIRE TEST switch ……………………………………………………………. Release Check APU FUEL VALVE OPEN advisory light illuminates and APU caution, CHECK FIRE DETECT warning, APU FIRE, APU FAULT, APU BTL ARM, APU FUEL VALVE CLOSED, APU EXTG and APU FAIL advisory and master CAUTION and master WARNING lights out.

Flight Deck Door …………………………………………………………………………………. ?

Test

Cascade RAS Door: Check areas surrounding both the electric lock and the door’s blow-out panel are free of obstructions that would prevent the unrestricted operation of those systems. Check that the door lock is operable and free of any obstructions.

NOTE The door latch should always be operable from the flight deck side. If the latch cannot be operated from the flight deck side, the Ground Use Only key has been used to lock the door and the door must be unlocked before proceeding.

Check that the lockdown deadbolt is free from obstructions. On the electronic keypad in the cabin, confirm:

RED indicator (large). …………………………………………………………… Illuminated GREEN indicator (large) ……………………………………………………….. Illuminated RED and GREEN indicators (small) …………………………………….. Extinguished

If the small red or green indicators are illuminated, wait 30 seconds for the lights to extinguish and the auto unlock cycle to complete prior to closing the door.

Fortified Flight Deck Door: This check is conducted from the flight deck and requires the assistance of another crew member to activate the Flight Attendant emergency access switch.

Check areas surrounding both the electric lock and the door’s blow-out panel are free of obstructions that would prevent the unrestricted operation of those systems.

Flight compartment door …………………………………………… Closed and locked Check BAGG DOOR, CKPT DOOR, AUTO UNLK and FAIL advisory lights and INTERNAL DOORS caution light out.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT emergency access switch …………… Press momentarily Check INTERNAL DOORS caution and AUTO UNLK advisory lights illuminate

• BATTERY MASTER, MAIN, AUX and STBY Switches are ON and associated caution lights are out. • Both DC Generators are switched ON. • Main Bus Tie Switch is in the TIE position. If DC External power is applied: Check DC EXT PWR ON is annunciated on the MFD Electrical page. If Main Bus voltage is below 27.5, select BATTERY MASTER, MAIN, AUX and STBY batteries OFF (associated caution lights illuminated) until ready to start engines.

If APU power is applied: Check APU generator is selected ON and load is less than 1.0.

Ensure that:

• FUEL and HYD VALVE OPEN green indications are illuminated • PULL FUEL/HYD OFF handles are in If the APU is not in operation the white FUEL CLOSED advisory light will be illuminated. If the APU is in operation ensure that the green FUEL OPEN light is illuminated. Ensure that no other lights are illuminated on the Fire Protection Panel.

Select the AFT BAGGAGE smoke detector test switch to TEST 1. Ensure the Master Warning tone sounds. Ensure the illumination of:

• SMOKE and MASTER WARNING (flashing), • SMOKE/EXTG, VENT INLT and VENT OUTLET and AFT BTL ARM advisory lights Release the test switch and then repeat the test using the TEST 2 position.

Ensure that the:

• RECIRC fan switch is ON • BLEED 1 and 2 switches are OFF • FLOW controller is in the MIN position • Temperature control AUTO/MANUAL switches for the cabin and flight deck are in the AUTO position • Temperature adjustment knobs are in positions appropriate to the anticipated air conditioning system requirements after engine start (approximately the 12 o’clock position)

Confirm the following:

• EGPWS terrain inhibit switch Normal; • #1 NAV is on and tuned to a VOR station; • FMS #1 is on and initialised; • Flaps are 0; • NAV and TERR selected on EFCP; • GPWS flap override is normal and guarded; and • GPWS caution light is out. Momentarily press either of the red PULL UP – TEST switchlights. Observe that the GPWS caution light and both BELOW G/S and PULL UP advisory lights illuminate. Ensure that “GLIDESLOPE”, “PULL UP” and “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP” is heard and that the TERRAIN TEST pattern appears on both MFDs.

PFCS Push Off Switchlights ……………………………………………………………….. ?

A

Norm Ensure the RUD 1, SPLR 1, SPLR 2 and RUD 2 PUSHOFF switchlights are NOT pushed IN and the OFF legends are extinguished. In strong winds the rudder may be deflected to the extent that both RUD PUSH OFF lights illuminate. This is a normal condition. The push off lights should extinguish when hydraulic pressure is available and the rudder deflection returns to within normal limits.
