What is the FCECU?
Flight control electronic control unit
How many elevators?
Two attached to each control column and under normal conditions they are linked. If there is a jam they can be disconnected
What are the elevators controlled by and powered by?
Mechanically controlled and hydraulically powered
The elevators hydraulic power redundancies for each PCU are?
3 power control units for each elevator, and each is supplied by a different source. Either #1 (outboard PCU) or 2 (centre PCU) or 3 (inboard) hydraulic system
What system provides power for the control lock on the ground?
Number 3 system
ELEVATOR PRESS caution light illuminates when?
All 3 hydraulic systems are simultaneously powered
Does the number 3 system automatically become used if the number 1 and or 2 HYD system is lost?
Yes
What do centring springs do?
Help return the elevator control surfaces to the neutral position
Elevator trim rates?
<150 kts high speed trim mode
>250kts low speed trim mode
What happens if there is a pitch trim command for more than 3 secs?
Clicking sound and illuminated the ELEVATOR TRIM SHUTOFF switch lights on glareshield
When does the Flap auto pitch trim system operate?
Flaps extend or retracted from 15 to 35
For flap auto pitch trim to operate what conditions must exist?
Flaps between 15 and 35
AP not engaged
IAS <180kts
Pitch trim switches not pushed
ELEVATOR ASYMMETRY caution light
Mismatch between left and right elevator
>185kts over 4degrees difference

What caution lights must you not exceed 200kts when illuminated?

After landing retracts all spoiler panels

A spoiler linkage jam and the affected spoiler clutch has disengaged

The affected hydraulic system depressurised allowing the spoilers to retract
