50% are strangulated on presentation so will need urgent repair

obesity, GORD
what is the management of hiatus hernia?
weight loss, PPI, surgery if really symptomatic
what is the management of an inguinal hernia in a paediatric patient?
if less than 1 then emergency repair
if over 1 then elective repair
what is the management of a umbilical hernia in a paediatric patient?
often conservative as most will close spontaneously by 3 years old
