What does pathogenesis mean?
The manner of development of a disease
Define symptoms
Physical or mental feature, which is apparent to the patient, which indicates a condition or disease
What is the difference between signs and symptoms?
Signs are only apparent to the practitioner whereas symptoms are noticed by the patient
What is the difference between diagnosis and prognosis?
The diagnosis is the identification of the disease or condition based on signs/symptoms
Prognosis is the likely course of the disease/condition
A prognosis is made based on a diagnosis

What is the main aetiology of lung cancer

What is the difference between a natural and un-natural disease?
Natural is something like a cold which you can just catch or develop without any ‘event’
Un-natural conditions are due to specific events
Eg - fractured bone due to a fall/trauma
What is a natural history?
The course of the disease in an individual
From onset to resolution, in the absence of intervention
