When would you get an immediate CT head following head injury?
A
GCS <13 on initial assessment GCS <15 at 2 hours post-injury Suspected open/depressed skull fracture Any sign of basal skull fracture Post-traumatic seizure Focal neurological deficit More than one episode of vomiting

When would you get a CT head within 8 hours of the injury?
A
Experienced some LOC or amnesia since injury AND one of the following risk factors:
- > 65
- History of bleeding/clotting disorders
- Dangerous mechanism of injury
- More than 30 mins retrograde amnesia of events immediately after injury

What should be done with patients on anticoagulants who have no indications for CT with a head injury?
A
CT head within 8 hours
