If high risk HPV testing is negative, what happens?
A
Cytology not done
Return to routine recall (unless follow up)

If high risk HPV testing is positive and cytology is abnormal, what happens?
A
Refer for colposcopy

If high risk HPV is positive but cytology normal, what happens?
A
Repeat in 12 months
If negative, return to routine screening
If positive, further 12 months follow up

If high risk HPV still positive at 24 months but cytology normal, what happens?
A
Colposcopy

If test sample is inadequate, what happens?
A
Repeat after 3 months
If still inadequate at this point refer to colposcopy

Repeat smear at 6 months
