What are common causes of PID?
Gonorrhea and chlamydia.
What age group is most commonly affected by PID?
Women ages 15 to 24
What organs are commonly involved in PID?
Uterus, Fallopian tubes, and ovaries
Signs and symptoms of PID
Pain, shuffling gait, fever, chills, nausea and vomiting.
Maybe slightly tachycardic.
Occasionally foul-smelling vaginal discharge, Often yellow in color. Irregular menstrual periods
Combination of lower abdomen generally elicits a moderate to severe pain and obvious rebound tenderness
