Gross Anatomy Of Thr Piggy-PBC Flashcards
PBC-Sacral Vertebrae
Consists of four fused sacral vertebrae forming a wedge shaped vertebrae known as the sacrum
PBC-Pelvic Girdle
Defines the caudal boundary of the ABC
Defines the dorsal, lateral, and ventral boundaries for PBC
Consists of three paired bones
Illium: largest, ,out dorsal bone–wing shaped
Ischium:projects backward and ventrally from the acetabulum–forms majority of floor of pelvis
Pubis:smallest of three bones, forms cranial part of pelvis floor
Os Coxae:half of pelvic girdle, formed by fusion of Illiad, ischium, and pubis
Right and left os Coxae are attached ventrally at the symphysis and dorsally to the axial skeleton by the left and right sacro-iliac articulations
Acetabulum: socket of hip joint where ilium, ischium, and pubis unite
