Pec major origin
O: anterior surface of medial 1/2 of clavicle; anterior surface of sternum; costal cartilage of ribs 1-6, aponeurosis external oblique muscle
Pec major insertion
I: lateral lip of intertubercular sulcus of humerus
Pec major action
A: adductor and medially rotates humorous; draws scapula anteriorly and inferiorly
Pec major nerve innervation
N: medial and lateral pectoral nn. (C5-T1)
- clavicular head: C5,C6
- sternocostal head: C7,C8,T1
Pec major blood supply
Pectoral branch of thoracoacromial artery
Pec minor origin
O: anterior surface of 3rd-5th ribs
Pec minor insertion
I: medial border and superior surface coracoid process of scapula
Pec minor action
A: stabilizes scapula by drawing it inferiorly and anteriorly against thoracic wall
Pec minor nerve
N: medial pectoral nn. (C8-T1)
Pec minor blood supply
Pectoral branch from thoracoacromial artery
Serratus Anterior origin
O: external surfaces of lateral parts of 1-8 ribs
Serratus Anterior insertion
I: anterior surface of medial border of scapula
serratus anterior action
A: protracts scapula and keeps it against thoracic wall; rotation of scapula
serratus anterior nerve
N: long thoracic n. (C5-C7)
serratus anterior blood supply
klj
subcalvian origin
O: junction of 1st rib and its costal cartilage
subclavius insertion
I: inferior surface of middle third of clavicle
subclavius action
A: anchors and depresses clavicle
