Si Jun Zi Tang
Ingredients:
Ren Shen (10g), Bai Zhu (9g), Fu Ling (9g), Zhi Gan Cao (6g)
Function:
Benefits qi, strengthens SP.
Indication:
SP &ST qi xu, Pallid complexion, low and soft voice, reduced appetite, loose stools and weakness in the limbs.
Tongue:
Pale tongue body
Pulse:
Thin and/or frail.
Clinical applications:
1. Tonify qi. It is distinguished by harmonious & moderate nature.
2. This is a classic presentation of SP qi xu, caused by improper eating habits, excessive deliberation, or overworking.
3. Currently used for neurasthenia, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, IBS, diabetes mellitus, uterine fibroids, etc.
C/C: It shouldn’t be used without modifications in case with high fever, deficiency heat, irritability, constipation.
Yi Gong San
Modification of Si Jun Zi Tang
Ingredients:
Si Jun Zi Tang, Chen Pi, Sheng Jiang, Da Zao
Indication:
SP qi xu with qi stagnation, leading to an irregular appetite with a stifling sensation in the chest.
Liu Jun Zi Tang
Modification of Si Jun Zi Tang
Ingredients:
Si Jun Zi Tang, Chen Pi, Ban Xia, Sheng Jiang (separately cook), Da Zao (separately cook)
Indication:
SP & ST qi deficiency with damp phlegm, coughing for copious, thin and white sputum.
Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang
Modification of Si Jun Zi Tang

Liu Jun Zi Tang, Sha Ren, Mu Xiang
Indication:
SP & ST qi deficiency damp-cold stagnating in MJ.
Xiang Sha Yang Wei Wan

Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang, Ping Wei San (Calm ST -> Cang Zhu, Hou Po, Chen Pi, Gan Cao, Sheng Jiang, Da Zao), add Bai Dou Kou

Liu Shen San
Modification of Si Jun Zi Tang
Ingredients:
Si Jun Zi Tang, Bai Dou Kou, Huang Qi
Indication:
SP/ST qi deficiency with lack of fluids.
Shen Ling Bai Zhu San
Ingredients:
Ren Shen (1000g), Bai Zhu (1000g), Fu Ling (1000g), Zhi Gan Cao (1000g), Shan Yao (1000g), Lian Zi Rou (500g), Bai Bian Dou (750g), Yi Yi Ren (500g), Sha Ren 500g), Jie Geng (500g)
Functions:
Benefits qi, strengthens SP, leaches out dampness, stops diarrhea.
Indications:
SP and ST qi deficiency with dampness, reduced appetite, loose stools or diarrhea, weakness in limbs, distention, stifling sensation of chest and epigastrium.
Tongue: Pale white coating
Pulse: Thin, moderate or deficient.
Clinical application:
1. T & T function to regulate ascending and descending qi functions,
2. Focus is to tonify and strenghten SP qi and harmonize ST, leach out damp, unblocks flow of LU qi.
3. Used for chronic gastritis, anemia, chronic bronchitis, diabetes, leukorrhea, etc.
C/C: Yin xu heat
Avoid: raw, cold food, greasy harsh food.
Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang
Ingredients:
Ren Shen (10g), Bai Zhu (10g), Zhi Gan Cao (5g), Huang Qi (15-20g), Chen Pi (6g), Dang Gui (10g), Chai Hu (3g), Sheng Ma (3g)
Functions:
Tonifies MJ, benefits qi, raises yang qi and lifts what has sunken.
Indications:
SP & ST qi deficiency (intermittent fever, sweating, aversion to cold, unclear vision, laconic speech, SOB, loose stools), Yang qi deficiency & sinking qi (prolapsed rectum, chronic diarrhea, chronic dysentary, incotinance, bleeding disorder)
Tongue: Pale tongue, thin white coating
Pulse: Flooding, deficient, rootless pulse in right Guan.
Clinical applications:
1. Tonify qi and raise yang, useful in treating organ prolapse, low fever due to MJ yang qi sunken.
2. Used for chronic bronchitis, 1 & 2nd degree prolapse, functional uterine bleeding
C/C: Yin xu heat, fever due to excess heat.
Sheng Mai San
Ingredients:
Ren Shen (10g), Mai Men Dong (15g), Wu Wei Zi (6g)
Functions:
Beneftis qi, generates fluids, preserves yin, stops excessive sweating.
Indications:
Summerheat causes profuse sweating, exhausting qi, and injured fluids (SOB, dry mouth, fatigue).
Chronic LU deficiency cough, qi and injured yin (chronic cough with sparse sputum that is difficult to expectorate, SOB, spontaneous sweating, dry mouth, tongue).
Tongue: pale red tongue, dry, thin coating
Pulse: deficient, rapid, or deficient and thin.
Clinical applications:
1. Well-balanced: tonifies, nourishes, clears, atringes.
2. Used for LU tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis, arrhythmia, CAD, cardiogenic shock, toxic shock.
C/C: High fever without qi & yin xu, external pathogenic influence.
