Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Program

Types of Federal Supply Schedules:
Single Award
Multiple Award
New Item Introductory
International
Single Award Schedule (SAS)
Contracts made with one supplier, pursuant to the Federal Supply Schedule Program, to cover delivery to one geographic area.
Multiple Award Schedule (MAS)
Contracts made with multiple suppliers, pursuant to the Federal Supply Schedule Program, for relatively the same items at varying prices for delivery within the same geographic area.
New Item Introductory Schedule
Introduces new or improved products into the federal supply system
International Federal Supply Schedule (IFSS)
Provides sources of supplies to U.S. government activities overseas

Use of FSS may be mandatory;
each schedule identifies the agencies required to use it as a primary source of supply
Agencies not required to use FSS may still issue orders under them
Contractors are encouraged to accept FSS orders

Other agencies may be authorized by GSA to award schedule contracts and publish schedules

Schedule descriptions are found at the List of Schedules in the GSA eLibrary, categorized by SIN
Products, supplies, and services may be ordered from GSA Schedule contractors or through the GSA Advantage! system
Establishment and Administration
Contracting officers responsible for awarding FSS contracts shall coordinate and obtain approval of the GSA Federal Supply Service before:
Establishing new schedules
Discontinuing existing schedules
Changing the scope of agency or geographical coverage of existing schedules
Adding or deleting SINs or national stock numbers, or revising their descriptions
