State and describe common equine skin neoplasia
A
- Melanoma = black , spherical or plaque like , most common around the perineum and parotid region of grey horse . Usually benign .
- Squamous cell carcinoma = raised , irregular , pink , locally invasive , most common around the genitals and eyes . Can grow rapidly . Excise and this usually cures but use histology to confirm .
- Sarcoid = multiple types, usually hairless, sometimes ulcerative , most common in groin , axilla and around eyes . Bovine pappilomavirus contributes to their development . more fibroblasts .

Treatment for sarcoid
A
some small , slow growing , not ulcerative or bleeding and don’t interfere with tack don’t need to remove - but can get larger
laser surgical removal
