How to activate Rescu 406S and 406SE in the water?
-attach retaining cord to the side of the raft.
-throw the beacon into the water. The antenna will automatically erect, and
transmit within 5 minutes.
How to activate Rescu 406S on land?
-Erect antenna by breaking the water soluble bands.
-Remove plastic bag under lanyard and place the lower end of the beacon
into the bag.
-Fill the bag with sufficient impure water (or tea, coffee, thin soup or urine) to cover the holes to activate the battery.
-Keep the beacon in a vertical position.
How to activate the Rescu 406 SE beacon on land?
-Erect antenna by breaking the water – soluble bands.
-Turn the rotary switch on the base to XMT (transmit) position.
-keep the portable radio beacon in a vertical position

A321 Neo Day/Night Flare, how to operate?
(1) Unscrew the cap at the appropriate end.
(2) Point the flare downwind and away from face/body.
(3) Ignite the flare by pulling the ring pull.
(4) Hold the flare at a 45-degree angle until the flare has discharged completely.
Alert phase PA:
“ATTENTION! All passengers remain seated and await further instructions”
(Advise of any known hazards - “Hazard left wing/Hazard right wing”).
Alert cancellation PA:
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your cooperation. Remain seated.
Cabin crew resume your normal duties”
Evacuation PA:
“EVACUATE - EVACUATE - EVACUATE”
And activate the EVAC COMMAND button.
In a land evacuation only, when must red manual inflation handle by pulled on the A321 mid cabin exit?
Immediately after opening the door, before moving to the opposite side - this ensures slide inflation.
Ditching PA:
(This can be done by either Tech or Cabin Crew)
“Attention! This is a ditching”
Follow your crew member’s instructions.
How do you disconnect slide rafts?
