What does blue text mean on EIS/ECAM?
Actions to be carried out.
What is a Level 1 failure?
Amber Caution without a chime, will be displayed on EWD. Requires MONITORING
What is a Level 2 Failure?
Amber Caution with single chime, requires action but not immediately, should be considered ASAP.
What is a Level 3 failure?
Master Warning requiring immediate action, triple chime.
Will the ECAM prioritise failures?
Yes, 1-2-3
What is ECAM Normal Mode?
Displaying messages as per the flight phase
What is ECAM Failure Mode?
Displays ECAM procedures and synoptic page as appropriate
What is ECAM Advisory Mode?
Automatically displays synoptic page with pulsing parameter. No other procedure, go to QRH.
What is ECAM Manual mode?
When selecting SD pages manually with ECAM control panel.
What is an independent failure?
One that affects a system in isolation.
What is a Primary Failure?
A failure that has cause a problem with another system, main cause of the problem, leads to secondary failure.
When does the Take-off Inhibit Memo appear?
80kts on Take-off to 1500
Or 2 mins
Some Warnings and Cautions inhibited
What is the only System page you cannot recall automaticlly?
CRZ
What is permanently on the EWD screen?
TAT SAT ISA TIME GW and G-load if exceeded after take-off.
If a DMC fails what will you see on the corresponding DU?
A white diagonal line.
When is the Alt Alert inhibited?
Slats out with Gear down
App after GS capture
Gear down and locked
How long will the status display if it’s empty?
3 seconds
When does to-inhibit memo disappear?
1500ft or 2 minutes after lift-off
What will an Amber arrow on PFD show?
Pitch limit for tail strike.
Where will you see secondary failures?
On the bottom right of the EWD with an *
If you see a green arrow on the EWD how would you scroll down to see more messages?
CLR button
When is the FWC inhibit on take off?
Take-off power to 1500ft
When is the FWC inhibit on landing?
800ft to touchdown or 80kts
What colour are Memos?
Green, occasionally Amber.
When does the Take-off Config memo appear?
2 mins after second engine start, or with 1 engine when take-off config button pressed. Pressing the Take-off config buttons simulates setting take-off thrust.
When does the landing Memo appear?
2000ft, or 800ft if you don’t climb above 2200ft RA.
When are configuration warnings triggered?
On pushing the take-off config button or application of power. List in the FCOM. All red are on Take-off power.
In single ECAM DU mode how will you see an Advisory?
ADV on EWD
In normal ops what is the order of display?
Door then Wheel when first engine started Eng when take -off power, Cruise at 1500ft Wheel at 800ft Door again on shutdown.
What colour are cancelled cautions on the STS page?
White
When will the STS page automatically display?
When CONF 1 on approach if not empty
When the last EWD ECAM actions cleared if it is not empty.
What is the OEB reminder?
Will show a reminder below the ECAM alert to remind you that there is an OEB. All other actions will be deleted, Refer to QRH/OEB proc.
How do you recall previously cleared messages?
Press RCL for 3 sec. Will show normal if none.
Watch, this will inhibit the inhibit system for the current phase of flight so may see some messages you wouldn’t normally see.
If single ECAM mode how do you see STS, and second STS page if there?
Push and hold STS. Then release and push again within 2 sec to see the next one. Will be on for a max of 3 min before it goes back to EWD
What does the ALL button do?
Push to page through SD pages at 1 sec intervals, let go to remain on that page.
What will the EMER CANC button do?
Silence any Red Warning (not remove)
Clear any Amber
Only for spurious Master Cautions.
