Diabetes
The amount of glucose in your body is too high (type 1)
Glucose cannot enter the body as a fuel
Pancreas creates insulin that allows glucose to enter the cells
Cannot make proper use of glucose so it build up in the blood
Hypoglycaemia
Abnormally low levels of glucose in the blood
Glucose levels too low- not enough energy to carry out tasks
Usually occurs if a diabetic misses taking insulin, misses a meal or exercises too hard
Symptoms: shakiness, trembling, hunger & sweating
Severe symptoms: difficulty concentrating or even loss of consciousness
Children’s lack of lactate
Children are recommended to only exercise aerobically as their bodies are not yet fully developed
Lactate system- one of the anatomy areas under-developed in children
Unable to remove lactate easily after high intensity exercise
Changes after puberty
