Replatforming from the Up platform to the Down platform- position light and ‘M’ in route indicator- proceeding straight on the main line to get behind the position light, changing ends and moving over the cross over at 15mph into the down platform.
Changing ends in the down platform & leaving on authority of GPL to enter the Up & Down Goods loop and changing ends to get behind the main aspect. Then leaving on authority of main aspect to return to the down platform.
Moving into the Up & Down Goods loop from the up platform to allow another service to pass and then continuing forward on the up Saltmarshe from the loop. Leave up platform on main aspect with ‘G’, enter loop and then leave on authority of main aspect.

The whistle board before Thorne North station on the Down Saltmarshe will be removed as the crossing is locked and can only be used by passengers when accompanied by station staff who do not rely on the whistle board. This change is due on 6th February.
You will no longer need to sound the horn or report that this board is missing.
What might be the reason for restrictive signalling around Saltmarshe station or Goole station?
Double blocking of signals to protect Goole Bridge. This is to mitigate risk in event of a SPAD where the bridge is open to water traffic. There are essentially two reds before the bridge and then the normal sequence follows to distance trains from the open bridge.
