heterogenous metabolic disorder - presence of hyperglycaemia due to impairment of insulin secretion, defective insulin action or both.
chronic hyperglycaemia of diabetes - associated with long term microvascular complications affecting eyes, kidneys, nerves and high risk for CV disease
