  • Ulcers and crusting major signs
  • Lesions multifocal & non-symmetrical
  • Usually, a herald patch (from rodent bite)
  • Usually hunting cat

  • Steroids can lead to fatal viral pneumonia

A
  • Coat brushings and wet paper test = flea infestation
  • Acetate tape test +/- superficial skin scrape = demodex gatoi
  • Indirect/direct impression smear cytology from exudative area = bacterial infection
  • Hair plucks + culture = dermatophytosis
  • Ectoparasite eradication trial = flea bite hypersensitivity + D. gatoi
  • Elimination diet = food induced FASS
