Mechanism of pain in cubital tunnel syndrome
A
compression of the ulnar nerve as it passes through the cubital tunnel

Clinical features of cubital tunnel
A
- Tingling/numbness of the 4th and 5th finger
(starts intermittent then becomes constant) - May develop weakness and muscle wasting
- Pain worse on leaning on the affected elbow
- Hx of OA or prior trauma to the area is common

Investigations for cubital tunnel
A
Usually a clinical diagnosis
may have nerve conduction studies done

Management of cubital tunnel syndrome
A
Avoid aggravating activity
Physiotherapy
Steroid injections
Surgery in resistant cases
