Social Consequences of Attractiveness: Halo Effect

A

Physical attraction perceived as :

  • warmer, more sexually responsive, more sensitive, kinder, more interesting, stronger, more poised, more sociable, more nurturing, more outgoing and more exciting
  • They get more offers of assistance, more cooperation, more self-disclosure, and are more effective in getting others to agree with them
  • Have increased social opportunities and more practice socializing
