The microspore mother cell goes through a process of cell division by meiosis. This forms 4 haploid cells called a tetrad. Mitosis occurs in order for the nucleus of these cells to divide into nuclei. 1 tube nucleus and 1 generative nucleus. Mitosis occurs again in order to have two male gametes.
