Active listening

Therapeutic Communication
Form of question that prompts a respondent to answer in more than two words
Open-ended question
Form of question that limits a respondent’s answer to one or two words
Closed-ended question
Identify, Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation; A mechanism for framing conversation, especially critical ones, requiring additional knowledge, skills, or resources, for example.. giving a nurse information on a patient when transferring

Real-time process that offers a healthcare professional who is accepting the care of a patient the opportunity to ask questions to clarify and confirm important details about a patient’s plan of care, patient progress, and continuing needs during the transfer of information
