1) Most common cause of breast lumps from 25 to menopause.
2) Presents with premenstrual breast pain and multiple lesions, often bilateral.
3) fluctuation in size of mass
4) usually does not indicate increased risk of carcinoma

Increased risk of bacterial infection through cracks in the nipple.
S. aureus is the most common pathogen

Fat necrosis
Benign, usually painless bump
Forms as a result of injury
Up to 50% of patients may not report trauma

Occurs in male
1) Results from hyperestrogenism:
(cirrhosis, testicular tumor, puberty, old age)
2) Klinefelter’s syndrome
3) Drugs (estrogen, weed, herone, psychoactive)
