Circ Water Flashcards
What are the requirements of traveling screen operation when starting Circ Water System?
Must be Operable for U2/3 CW Pumps to be started
If iced - must be oeprated in manual
Failure of spray wash requires immediate correcting action and possibly CW Pp Shutdown
OPERATION WITHOU TRAVEL SCREEN OPERABLE WILL DESTROY SCREEN W/IN 8 HOURS if river debris high
What are symptoms of Main Condenser Tube Leak
Rising Hotwell Effluent Conductivity
Condensate Pump Discharge Magnesium or Sulfate Rise
What verifies Condenser Water Box Doors Closed?
Pre-Op Checks - Inspections bolted and leakage.
If leaking, notify MCR immediately
Vacuum limitations prior to initiating Flow Reversal?
If Vacuum <25.5 inHg on lowest section AND/OR 26.5inHg on highest section WHEN Rx Press >600psig
Has impact on sensing lines and has potential to drop vacuum to SCRAM setpoint
Why is a second flow reversal undesirable when there is no equipment malfunction?
May scram on low vacuum due to vacuum transient
What are the corrective actions if breaker trips during flow reversal?
Direct Operator at MCC to reset breaker
If same breaker trips AGAIN, then place switch to return flow to original direction and notify Shift Manager
Drect Operator to reset breaker
What are the actions required if the CW Pump Discharge Valve fails to close after CW Pp securing?
Pump will spin backwards and CW Flow will short circuit. May damage pump and reduce vacuum.
REQUIRED TO MANUALLY CLOSE VALVE
