What is the sequence for starting/stopping CCSW Pumps andy why?
Operating CCSW Pump should be stopped before starting idle CCSW Pump in that loop to lessen the impact of CCSW Pump Discharge Check Valve slam
Why should CCSW Pump NOT be run w/ 2-1501-3A/B full open?
Should not be run w/ HX outlet vlv full open. may cause pump motor to overload and damage.
What action must be performed if pump seal pressure cannot be maintained positive?
CCSW Pumps are equipment with a packing seal water system.
Trip the CCSW pump if a positive seal pressure cannot be maintained. This cannot be observed from the control room, only by EO at the pump.
What is the flow requirement difference between U2 and the reason for the difference?
U3 3500gpm; U2 3621.
U2 must account for the flow going to the CREV System.
What is the difference between a CCSW Pump test and a CCSW IST Test?
CCSW for Operability: satisfied by verifying pump can operate within the established IST differential pressure range of IST acceptance criteria (DISACM). If in the “Required action range” notify Unit Supervisor, declary CCSW INOP and comply with TS 3.7.1
CCSW for IST : Check valve testing/verification via flows, pressure, and idle pump status
When may the Shift Supervisor waive teh performance of DOS 1500-08 (CCSW Chemistry review for discharge).

Why should CCSW NOT be run w/ HX discharge valve full open?

If CCSW needed during an EMERGENCY situation, how are requirements of DOS 1500-08 met?
If directed by Ops Shift Supervisor, then samples need not be taken. Latest monthly CCSW Hx sample results may be used to determine discharge.
What are the adverse affects of a CCSW Discharge Check Vavle Slam?
Damage to disk, seat, other valve components.
