COCKPIT (ALL FLIGHTS) CHECKLIST
1. Strap in - Complete (BOTH)
- Plug in G-suit Hose -> Connect 2x SSK Buckles on sides of your hips
- Bottom to Top: Connect 2x Ankle Straps -> Connect Lap Belt -> Connect 2x Shoulder Harnesses
- Connect 2x Oxygen Hoses to CRU-60
- Put on Helmet with Chin Strap -> Plug in 2x Oxygen Hoses & Comm cord (3 connections)

2. BAT switch - ON
What is the callout before and after?
ensure Prop Area is clear, then “Prop Clear”

4. External power - AS REQUIRED
If external power is required, what is the hand signal to the crew chief?
Left fist partially clenched. Right fist with first two fingers extended moved in direction of left hand and inserted into circle made by fingers of left hand.
Crew Chief should return signal prior to connecting external power

What is the minimum volts for BATTERY start? What is the minimum volts to connect external power?
23.5 Volts minimum for battery start / 22.0 Volts minimum to connect external power

3. Regulator anti-suffocation valve - CHECK (BOTH)
Press the mask to your face and ensure that you can inhale (if the anti-suffocation valve is functioning properly, it will require greater-than-normal suction but you will allow the inhalation of ambient air)

5. Seat Height - Adjust
Adjust the Seat Height to where you can just see the top of the EADI display (but not any of the upper ADI frame or light sensor in the center of the frame) beneath the bottom edge of the dashboard

6. Rudder pedals - ADJUST
Adjust to allow MAX toe brake depression (top of the pedals) with the rudder fully deflected with knees slightly bent

Check that all advisory, caution, and warning annunciators illuminate and that the two FDR lights, the red gear handle, red and green gear position lights and gear door lights illuminate

Hold the switch forward, then backwards and listen for the beeps

c. AOA system test switch - TEST:
(1) LOW - Amber Donut, 10.5 units
Check AOA indexer amber donuts illuminate, red chevrons deactivate, and AOA gages show 10.5±0.25 units.
Hold the AOA button on “low”

c. AOA system test switch - TEST:
(2) HIGH - Green Chevron, Stick Shaker, 18 Units
Check AOA indexer green chevrons illuminate, stick shaker activates, and AOA gages show 18±0.25 units.
Hold the AOA button on “high” and ease the stick back

Check that both upper engine FIRE lights illumi- nate in FIRE 1 position and both lower engine FIRE lights illuminate in FIRE 2 position.
Hold the Fire button up, acknowledge Fire 1
Hold the Fire button down, acknowledge Fire 2, punch out Master Warning

40. RAM AIR FLOW switch - AS REQUIRED
For positive cockpit ventilation, place the RAM AIR FLOW switch to the NORM or HI position. For best cockpit cooling at altitudes below 7500 feet MSL, set RAM AIR FLOW switch to OFF. Set temperature controller as required.

- Rotate Internal Canopy Handle
- Lift (silver) Lock Release Lever
- Release Lock Release Lever
- Gently attempt to rotate Canopy Handle aft
- Verify that both the Mechanical Canopy Lock Indicators show Green (“Latched”) in each cockpit (one forward of and one rearward of Canopy Handle)
ENGINE START (AUTO) CHECKLIST
1. Canopy - CLOSED AND LATCHED (BOTH)

Ensure that ST READY Light remains illuminated for at least 3 seconds (Starting the callout below ensures that is has been on for 3 seconds).
