The main portion; long and slender.
What is the head?
Posterior end; articulates with vertebrae
What is the tubercle?
Articulates with vertebrae.
What is the costal cartilage?
Hyaline cartilage; connects the ribs to the sternum.
What are the 3 parts of the sternum?
- Manubrium
- Body
- Xiphoid Process
What does the manubrium connect to?
The clavicles (collarbone)
What does the sternum’s body connect to?
The true ribs.
What part of the sternum is the xiphoid process located?
The end
