Virginia plan
The plan for a new government consisting of the legislative, judicial and executive branches of the government. There would be two houses and the amount of votes each state got, relied on population. Larger states had more representatives so smaller states had less.
New Jersey plan
Same three branches of government, but each state only got one vote no matter the population.
Roger Sherman
Worked out the great compromise.
Great compromise
Where the House of Representatives was voted in by popular vote. The seats were awarded based on population. The senate would be chosen by state legislatures. Each state no matter the population would have two senators.
Three fifths compromise
Three fifths of the states slaves would be counted in population.
