Battle of New Orleans

A

Andrew Jackson fought it, the Americans won it. Kept the British from using Florida as a base. Jasksons troops included thousands of men who many of them were riflemen. Citizens also joined to protect New Orleans. The Americans built trenches to protect themselves. January eighth the British attacked. More then 2000 British died only seven Americans died.

John q. Adams was there in Belgium when it was signed. He said “nothing was adjusted nothing was settled.” Britain and America settled back to prewar conditions. The Canada border was also settled.
