Government by the people
Democracy

Electoral college
System in which governmental power is divided into two or more levels, usually a central government and component local governments
Federalism
A principle of government that asserts that a numerical majority of the electorate can make decisions binding upon the entire electorate
Majority rule
A majority consisting of a majority of all voting citizens.
Popular majority
A majority of elected officials
Representative majority
A society in which differing opinions and parties exist freely
