Animal behavior
The expression of the actives of an animal and includes all things that an animal may do

- grooming
- reproducing
- feeding etc
Fixed behaviors
Instinctive or innate behaviors that an animal will exhibit without having any opportunity to learn
Learned responses
Behaviors that ultimately form in response to specific experiences
Comparative psychology
The study of the mechanisms controlling behaviors of non-human animals. Accepted and used for years by psychologists, physiologists, and cognitive scientists
Sociobiology
The study of the biological basis of social behavior. An emphasis is placed on the role of genetics in controlling expressed behaviors.

Behavioral ecology
The study of the relationship between a behavior and its environment
Ethology
The study of animals’ behavior in their natural surroundings with a focus on instinctive or innate behaviors
Applied ethology
Focuses on the behavior of animals reared by humans and aims to understand the expression of behaviors as indicators of the animals welfare
