Indi- Complete or partial reversal of narcotic depression; diagnosis of suspected opioid overdose

Action- Pure narcotic antagonist; reverses the effects of the opioids, including respiratory depression, sedation, and hypotension

A

Ergot Derivative

I- Prevention or abortion of vascular headaches

A- Constricts cranial blood vessels, decreases pulsation of cranial arteries, and decreases hyperperfusion of the basilar artery vascular bed; mechanism of action is not understood

A

AE- tingling of the fingers and toes, muscle pain in the extremities, pulselessnessor weakness in the legs, precordial distress, ergotism.

CI- CAD, HTN, or peripheral vascular disease, impaired liver,, prego and lact, Ergotism, pruritus, malnutrition

DDI- beta blockers

CI- active CAD, caution w/ elderly patients, and renal and hepatic dysfunction, and prego and lact

DDI- ergot-containing drugs, use only 2 weeks after done using MAIO
