What does the red light mean and where should it be?
A red light means you must stop at the stop line, and it should be located at your right.
When the light is located at your left, you don’t have to follow the instruction.
The red lights can be above you and repeated on the left side.
How does the stop work with a box for cyclists?
When there is a box for cyclists at a crossing point, the cyclist must stop at the second stopping line (in front of the car) and the car must stop at the first stopping line, leaving the bicycles and mopeds ahead.
What does the green light mean?
The green lights mean you can drive on at the crossing road.
When there is a traffic sign below the traffic light, you have to follow what the traffic light says.
What does mean when a green light is replaced by an orange/amber flashing light?
You may continue but must be very careful and give the way when needed.
What does the amber light mean?
You may not drive on and you must stop in front of the stop line.
You are only allowed to drive past the light when it is not safe to stop.
What does mean a flashing orange-yellow light?
You may drive with extreme caution and you have to give priority when needed.
What are the signs B22 and B23?
These signs are the red inverted triangle with the yellow bicycle in the middle.
It instructs that a cyclist can drive on or turn right even at a red or amber light.
However, they have to respect all the priorities.
What do the arrows indicate on the traffic lights?
The same rules according to the color apply, but only for the direction indicated.
What is the meaning of a red traffic light and an arrow?
When the red light is lit up at the same time as a green arrow light, you may pass the red light in order to follow the direction of the arrow.
However, you must give way to other traffic and pedestrians coming from other directions.
What is the meaning of a green filter arrow (evacuation) at a junction?
This light is used to facilitate traffic flow to the left. This means that the oncoming traffic is held by the red light, and you may turn to the left.
When there is no oncoming traffic, you are allowed to clear the crossroad junction before the green arrow light list up.
Although the green light is lit up, you are NOT allowed to pass the red light to catch the turn to the left.
What are the possible arrows on an express road or a motorway?
Green downwards: The lane is available for use. You should drive as much to the right as possible, but the left lines can be used for overtaking when a blue sign with arrows instruct to a destination, or in traffic jams.
Amber: slanting down to the left or the right, indicated that you must leave that lane as soon as possible and go in the direction indicated (right or left).
Red cross: Indicated that the lane is not available for use.
What is the meaning of white light on a level crossing (train rails)?
You are allowed to cross over the level corssing.
What is the meaning of red flashing/alternating lights?
You are NOT allowed to cross (the train may be passing).
Usually, the red lights are accompanied by the sound of a bell before and riding the closing of barriers.
Crossing these red lights is a serious offense, and your license can be revoked.
How can you overtake on a level crossing?
When the single or double X signs are and the white light is on, you may overtake on the left.
What are the traffic lights for the Trams?
The pointing down arrow: Greenlight. The circle: orange/yellow light. The horizontal bar: red light. The vertical bar: drive straight ahead. The vertical bar: indicated to drive on the right or the left.
