What are the lines on the pavement for overtaking?
Only when there are yellow or white broken lines is allowed to overtake.
Sometimes there are two lines (broken and solid), always follow the one on your side.
Is it allowed to overtake on a speed hump?
No. You can not overtake any vehicle, including bicycles and mopeds.
The max. speed is 30 kph.
What are the traffic signs ruling overtaking?
The red circle with a red car on the left and a black on the right.
This indicated that you can not overtake any 2-wheel vehicle, including animals in harnesses.
You can overtake a bike but the bike can not overtake you (you have 2 wheels).
Also, there are signs prohibiting good vehicles and a combination of vehicles exceeding 3.5 tons MAW to overtake 2-wheel vehicles (cars and animals in harness).
But a car can overtake a truck with a MAW above 3.5 tons.
For how long do the traffic signs rule overtaking?
Until the next junction of when there the sign ending the prohibition appears (a white sign with two cars and a diagonal black bar).
Is it allowed to overtake on a level crossing?
No. For cars, animals, and two-wheeled motor vehicles.
Yes. for cyclists. When there are barriers or traffic lights ( and the white line is on).
Is it allowed to overtake at a junction?
No. When there are no authorized persons, traffic light signs of priority, or where the priority rule applies (on the right with the red triangle and the cross).
A cyclist is not a motor vehicle, so it can be overtaken.
Is it allowed to overtake at a junction with the stop or give the right to go sign?
No. When you have to give the right to go, it is prohibited to overtake on the left.

You can only overtake at a junction with traffic lights, an authorized person directing, or if you have priority.
Is it allowed to overtake on a steep hill?
No. because you can not see what is coming.
You can only overtake on a hill when there are two lanes per direction and if you don’t cross the solid line separating the carriageways.
Is it allowed to overtake on a dangerous bend?
No. In any of the dangerous bends (to the right, to the left, first right then left, etc.) is allowed to overtake, because there is no visibility.
Only when there are two lanes for the direction and you don’t touch the solid line.
Is it allowed to overtake at a crossing?
No. When the car in front is approaching a crossing for bicycles or pedestrians, you can not overtake.
Also, you can not wait/park within 5 meters of the crossing.
How does triple overtaking works?
- On a road with two-way traffic, you can only overtake a car that is overtaking a bicycle or a moped. You can not overtake a car that is overtaking another car (It is impossible as there is no space in the direction).
- On a road with at least 3 lanes, you may overtake a car that is overtaking another car.
