What does mean an officer with one arm raised vertically?
All road users including pedestrians must stop.
What does mean an officer with one or two arms raised horizontally?
All road users must stop, approaching from all directions (behind and in front).
This is when standing on a crossroad. The traffic may still follow, ride through or turn left or right.
What are the possible signals that an officer can give with the arms?
- Back and forth with a red torch means that the driver has to stop.
- Up and down with the arms means you have to slow down.
- Rotating arm movement means you have to drive faster.
When does an officer use a whistle?
Usually, the whistle is used to attract the attention of people.
Who are the other persons authorized to give signals?
Officials at races or vents, traffic sergeants, school crossing supervisors, group leaders.
At crossing roads without traffic lights, they are allowed to hold up traffic with a black-yellow-red armband and the C3 sign (red circle with white in the center).
What are the emergency/priority vehicles?
A car equipped with a blue rotating/flashing light and a warning siren.
Ambulance, car police, and fire services.
What is the hierarchy for the traffic?
- an authorized person.

- Traffic signs.
- Traffic rules/regulations.
Traffic regulation is e.g. the maximum speed on the motorway (120 kph), but if there is a traffic sign indicating something different, then the traffic sign rules.
