clinical description of histrionic PD

- unknown causes, maybe a failure of emptahtic mirroring taught in early childhood, resulting in the person fixating at the self-centered stage of development.

- may be born with a difficuly temperament resulting in parental criticism
- they thus have low self-esteem and may experience social alienation
- people with avoidant PD remember their parents are more rejecting, ore guilt engendering and less affectionate.
- they are more likely to report childhood experiences of neglect, isolation, rejection and conflict with others.
