feeding 5-7 months
takes cereal or pureed baby food from a spoon
feeding 6-8
attempts to hold bottle but may not retrieve it if it falls, needs to be monitored for safety reasons
feeding 6-9 months
holds and tries to eat cracker but sucks on it more than bites; consumes soft foods that dissolve in the mouth; grabs at the spoon but then bangs it or sucks on either end of it. 7-8 months: diagonal jaw movement.
feeding 9-13
finger feeds a portion of meals consisting of soft table foods a may object if fed by an adult. Lateral tongue movements make mastication of soft and mashed foods effective. Can drink from cup, jaw firm at 12 mo
feeding 12-14
dips spoon in food, brings spoonful of food to mouth, but spills food by inverting spoon before it goes into mouth. Jaw is firm, rotary chewing allowing for good bite of hard cookie.
feeding 15-18 months
scoops food with spoon and bring sit to mouth
feeding 24-30 months
demonstrates an interest in using fork; may stab at food; proficient at spoon use. Able to chew most meats and raw veggies.
dressing 1 year
pulls of shoes and socks; holds arms out; pushes arms through sleeves
dressing 2 years
remove unfastened coat; remove shoes; helps pull down pants; finds armholdes
dressing 2.5 years
removes pants with elastic waist; assists in pulling socks; puts on coat or button up shirt; unbuttons large buttons
dressing 3 years
puts on pullover shirt with min assis; puts on shoes maybe wrong foot; puts on sock ; pulls down pants; zip and unzip jacket; button large buttons; needs assistance to remove pullover shirt
dressing 3.5 years
find front of clothes; hook front fastener; unzip; put on mittens; button series of buttons, unbuckle shoes; dress with supervision
dressing 4 years
remove pullover garment independently; buckle shoes, zip, put on socks, put on shoes, lace shoes, know front and back of garments
dressing 4.5 years
puts belt in loops
dressing 5 years
ties and unties knots, dress unsupervised
dressing 6 years
close back zippers, tie bows, button back buttons, snaps back snaps
toileting 1 year
indicates discomfort when wet; has regular bowel movements
toileting 1.5 years
sits on toilet when placed there and supervised

urinates regularly; shows interest in potty training; stay dry for 2 hours or more; flushes toilet by self
