What is cerebral palsy?
A group of disorders characterized by some degree of motor impairment
What type of motor neuron disease is CP?
Upper motor neuron
When does cerebral palsy damage occur?
Prenatal, perinatal, postnatal
Cerebral palsy damage is progressive or non progressive?
Non progressive
In spastic CP where is damage done?
In the motor cortex or pyramidal tracts
Where is damage done in cases of dyskinetic CP
Extrapyramidal tract, basal nuclei, or cranial nerves
Where does damage occur in cases of Ataxic CP?
Cerebellum
What is multiple sclerosis?
The exacerbating and remitting demyelination of the CNS tract
What type of nerve fibers does MS effect?
- motor
- sensory
- autonomic
What is lhermitte symptom?
Electric shock like tingling down the back and legs that happens when the neck is flexed
