Q

Mitosis/Cytokinesis

A

1) DNA condenses to form chromosomes

2) Chromosomes line up along the centre of the cells

3)Cell fibres pull the two arms of each chromosome to the opposite side (poles) of the cell

4) Cytokines takes place- the entire cell divided to form 2 identical daughter cells

These 2 daughter cells contribute to
Growth
Development
Repair

Q

What are the steps of the cell cycle

A

[1]Cellular growth - the cell gets larger and produces more sub-cellular structures, such as mitochondria and ribosomes.

[2]DNA replication - chromosomes duplicate, so that each consists of 2 arms (copies).

[3]More cell growth.

[4]Mitosis - the DNA divides into two.

[5]Cytokinesis - the cell divides into two.
