YMCA 3-minute step test

A

Perform 96 steps per minute, on 12-inch step,
for 3 minutes.
• Within 5 seconds of stopping, take recovery
pulse for 60 seconds.
• Match recovery pulse to chart in text.
• Assign to proper HR zone:
o Verypoor/poor/belowaverage=zone1 o Average/aboveaverage/good=zone2 o Excellent=zone3
