Superior

Inferior
Away from head; lower (e.g. foot is part of inferior extremity).
Anterior or ventral

Coronal Plane
Vertical plane running side to side; divides body or any of its parts into anterior and posterior portions.
Sagittal Plane
Vertical plane running front to back; divides body or any of parts into right and left sides.
Transverse Plane
Horizontal plane; divides body or any of parts into upper & lower parts.
Midsaggital
Sagittal plane through midline of body; dividing it or its parts into right & left halves.
